CDDO stands for Community Developmental Disabilities Organization. Due to the provisions of the Developmenatal Disabilities Reform Act, a CDDO has been designated for every area of the State to help coordinate DD services and supports. Johnson County Developmental Supports is the designated CDDO for Johnson County. The CDDO provides a single point of entry for services and works with service providers to ensure quality services for individuals with developmental disabilities. Please call 913-826-2506 for additional information. Mission Statement: Building resources to meet the needs and enhance the lives of persons with developmental disabilities and their families. Role of the CDDO: The CDDO is the single point of entry for an individual or family to obtain services through the developmental disability system. The CDDO is responsible for determining whether a person qualifies for services, working with the person and/or their family or guardian in choosing from an array of services options, and referring those persons to other agencies if additional supports are needed. Contact the CDDO In addition, the CDDO monitors the quality of the services being provided by individual and community service providers. A local Quality Assurance Committee was created that is made up of persons with developmental disabilities, their families, guardians, interested citizens, and providers. The committee provides on-site monitoring of services to ensure individuals are provided with choices, receive necessary supports, are protected from harm, and exercise rights to the fullest extent possible. CDDO staff also perform regular and ongoing quality assurance reviews with community and individual service providers, as well as investigate complaints by individuals and/or familys. Case Management is a support that develops, links, coordinates and monitors quality services and resources. This may include assistance with identifying funding options, obtaining living and employment services and accessing generic professional services. Case Management services can be obtained from a licenses community service provider, case manager agency, or an individual who is licensed to provide case management services.

Employment/Day Services includes facility-based work services, work crews, jobs in the community and alternative day supports and activities.

Residential Services are available to individuals who do not live with their family. A wide array of services ranging from a few hours of support to around-the clock care.

Family Support Services are provided to individuals who live with their families. This service provides necessary support for individuals to meet their daily living needs.

Van Lifts, Equipment and Home Modifications Van lifts are vehicle modifications consisting solely of a lift (may include other structural changes to accommodate the lift installation), and are provided for safe transfer and transportation to enhance community integration.
Wheelchair modifications are modifications necessary for promoting the health, well-being and independence of the individual.
Home modifications are those services which assess the need for, arrange for, and provide modifications or improvements to an individual's home in order to remain with the natural, adoptive or foster family or in an inclusive setting to ensure safety, security and accessibility.
